Effects of Aging
Numerous changes occur as the human body ages. Many of the organs in the body may function less efficiently with age. With advancing age, the immune system may also become less able to protect the body against bacteria, viruses and other harmful agents by producing antibodies. This helps explain why a young person may suffer only minor symptoms of pneumonia, while it might prove fatal to an elderly person.
Home Medical Equipment to Assist Aging Patients
While "aging" itself doesn't require medical equipment intervention, many of the symptoms and problems associated with aging can be minimized if appropriate equipment is made available. Below is a list of some of the kinds of equipment that might be needed:

- Commode chairs, raised toilet seats bath and shower products, tub transfer benches, hand held showers
- Wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, scooters
